Better

No more fever, still feeling pretty run down. Hopefully will be back in the saddle tomorrow. If so, will do Back and Biceps, Kenpo on Sat and Legs and Back on Sunday. I'm ignoring YogaX more than I should, but the truth is that I hate that workout. Considering ditching it for StretchX entirely. Will see.

Knocked out Plyo this morning, that's a great workout. Big sweat.

Went to bed at 5pm. Have a low grade fever and feel like someone beat me with a bag of doorknobs.

And so begins Week 6. Damage doesn't seem too terrible this morning although I got up late. Going to have to drop the hammer to get the workout in before work.

That went surprisingly well, perhaps a guilty conscious is strong motivator? I must be doing something right, weight and reps are both up on Chest/Shoulders/Triceps today.

Didn't ride today but did 500 steps on climber, hamstrings are pretty tight for some reason.
CardioX and Abripper still to do.

Did Abripper and got well into CardioX before flat out running out of gas. I am beat. Will hit CardioX again tomorrow.

Sunday

Knocked out CardioX and Abripper from Friday first thing this morning. Not sure what else will get done today, house cleaning probably, maybe a bike ride.

I'm 38 today.

Well that was fun. I'm fairly disgusted with myself about the over indulgence but on the other hand it was fun partying with the neighbors. Ribs and beer were dang good. Tomorrow I'll start kicking it Jonny Hardcore style. Hangover permitting.

Saturday

Did KenpoX and spent a fair amout of time outside on bikes with the kids. Ate way too much at a new Mediterranean restaurant.

TGIF.

Did Back and legs this morning, went pretty well. Happy to see the number of pull ups I can do is increasing. Weather is cold and raining so I think I'll do stretchX or yogaX at lunch (since I wussed out yesterday) and finish up with CardioX and Abripper tonight.

Was still dang sore this morning, but feel a lot better after stretching/working out.

Want to good way to miss a workout? Schedule it for Friday night. Cardio/Abripper postponed to Saturday.

Turn it up a notch.

So I knocked out Back&Biceps this morning and did the yesterday's missed PlyoX workout at lunch. Knee felt okay with the brace on during Plyo. Planning to knock out CardioX and Abripper this evening. Then, after 3 hours of working out, I plan on sleeping. Hard.

So I crashed mighty hard last night, have no recollection of the alarm going of this morning. When I finally got out of bed I felt like I was moving like the Frankenstein monster. Hot shower loosened me up and I feel human again although curiously sore.
Have Plyo and a 5 mile run scheduled today. I think it's time to get a little more strict with my eating and nutrition, want more of this GOO to come OFF.

Hell and Damnation. Knee asploded at 3.5 miles. Plyo is a casualty of war.

I'm up. Late, but up.

Chest,Shoulders&Tri workout went well, feeling mighty. Will also be adding CardioX to AbripperX on MWF during this Phase - not sure how I'm going to allocate the time in the evening yet. Maybe I can talk the kids into doing it with me.

Ortho can't find anything wrong with the knee, suggested I stop running on the shoulder of the road since running unlevel (into traffic) puts extra lateral stress on it. So I'll start mapping runs on sidewalks and the greenways and keep it level. We'll see how it goes tomorrow.
Also just knocked out CardioX, still have Abripper to go.

Update

Sorry for the lack of updates, last few days have been crazy with work. Thursday I knocked out Core, Abripper and StretchX. Yesterday I was offsite all day and didn't get squat done on P90X. Today I'm going to hit core again and if the weather holds try to get in a nice long bike ride. I'll keep you posted!

Did 15 miles on the mountain bike today, knee held up fine. Core didn't happen but there you go. Also meet a neighbor who is also a cyclist and invited me to be part of their MS team in Sept. Very cool!

Week 4, Day 3

I'm in a good mood today, the knee is feeling alright and I was able to do KenpoX today wearing the knee support. Looks like I've missed a KenpoX, YogaX, and Core Syn workout as well as an AbripperX. Not sure if I'll write them off or make them up yet. Probably make them up since running is over for now.
I have noticed I am MUCH more flexible and am gaining definition. Weight was 190.2 this morning, in case you're curious.

Week 4, Day 2

I guess the good news is that this is a recovery week. Knee was having none of the yogaX yesterday, so I just did some stretching and let it heal. Today is core synergistics workout and I'm hoping I can knock it out at lunch.
Got an appointment with the Ortho next week, hoping he can give me some pointers to be able to run some anyway.

Well. Shit.
Left knee gave up the ghost on the 8 miler today. Same problems as last Nov, hurts to climb/descend stairs, burning sensation around the outside of the knee, shooting pain if I step wrong. I've iced it and have the brace on.

I'm trying to stay optimistic but I think I'll see about a visit to the ortho. Maybe they can give me some good news but my gut says my days of distance running are over.

This sucks.

Cranked Shoulders & Arms pretty hard, was disjointed and interrupted with getting all the morning hoohaa done, kids dressed and fed and so on, but I'm pleased with the results.

Plyo went well, although we had a really rough night (everybody up and about at one time or another) I'm glad I got up on time and knocked it out. Have 4 mile run scheduled for lunch. Feeling pretty good today.

Week 3, Day 1

Chest and Back went well, but I'm feeling pretty wasted and ill now. Was really thirsty this morning, probably drank too much water during the workout. Going to grab a shower, should feel better after that.

Just checking in, feeling good now. Shower and breakfast set me right up. Going to work on the schedule a little and hopefully have that posted before long. Now that I've seen how the first couple of weeks have rolled I can put something in place that I can maintain.

Rode 12 miles in 56 minutes on the mountain bike today, would have liked to have done more as nice out as it is, but can only stretch a lunch break so far...

AbripperX, two nights in a row. Not as bad as I was expecting but not exactly hugs and rainbows either. Now I'm caught up to where the schedule is supposed to be, which makes me happy and I've got my updated schedule and workout sheets posted HERE. I'll see about updating them with my actual info pretty soon.

Sunday end of week 2

Skipped Kenpo yesterday so did that first thing this morning. Still have to do Abripper and want to get StretchX in as well. Not sure if I'll get a bike ride in or not. Legs feel pretty good, there is a fair amount of tenderness especially in my glutes, but that's no surprise.
Weight was 189 this morning.

Rode 4 miles in the neighborhood with the kids, nice day out. Just finished StretchX, feeling pretty dang good right now. I highly recommend it.

Knocked out AbripperX although I wasn't very motivated to do it. Spent a lot of time outside today and am pretty tired. Felt good to get it done (what, only 33 more times?) with a hot shower I could gladly rack out right now.

I think I'm going to have to start blogging as soon as I get up like I used to do, while I'm doing well with not missing a workout yet I feel like my discipline in the morning is slipping - cycling went pretty much out the window this week and a lot of workouts were shuffled around. Not happy with that. So if you guys don't see me having posted by 5:35am or so, feel free to give me a load of carp in the comments - I'll deserve it.

What a day.

Today was a zoo. I won't go into details but I ended up doing 1 hour of legs&back in 46 minutes by skipping breaks and cranking everything as fast as I could. It was quite a thing. Weight's up to 189 but that's cool.
