Day 53 Three for all!

Yoga for breakfast, 7.5 miles of the Tobacco Trail on the mountain bike for lunch, and 11 laps at the pool for dinner.
Getting worried about the swim part of the Tri. Hope to see some big improvements or I'm gonna be in trouble.

Day 51

Knocked out CardioX this morning, worked up a good sweat. Considering hitting the pool again at lunch, supposed to be 89 degrees today.
Have a good one!

Alright, took a late lunch and hit the pool today, got all 15 laps done! Now for getting them knocked out without resting after each lap. Have been experimenting with my stroke to breath ratio, today it seemed like I was most efficient at 4:1. I've done 2:1 and 3:1 the last couple of times at the pool, I guess we'll see how that ends up.

Day 50 -With a bullet-

Upperbody plus this morning, pretty heavy duty. Got cleaned up and took the family to the state park for a 'walk' that turned into 'hike' and ended as a 'death march' with me carrying the 5 yr old up a mountain on my shoulders for the last mile or so.
Got home, had lunch then slipped out to the pool while the rest of the family chilled out and napped around the house. The pool was pretty rough after the rest of the morning, got 10 laps in before calling it good and getting out. Got really dizzy/light headed drying off and both biceps kept threatening to lock up. Was very weird and disconcerting.

I'm going to really have to hammer the swimming to be ready for the Tri, getting kind of worried about that.

Day 49 - Sunday

I was still recuperating yesterday and took it easy. This morning I got up and knocked out Intervals+ and will do StretchX this evening. Hoping to get a swim in sometime today too, we'll see. I've got a little under 8 weeks before the triathlon, so in addition to P180X+ I'm going to add the following schedule beginning tomorrow:
MWF Swim
TSa Run (3-5 Miles)
ThSu Cycle (15-20 Miles)

Day 47, From the airport

My flight is delayed so I'm a bloggin' from the blackberry!
I've been in TN all week, eating badly (but oh so good!), drinking badly, and sleeping badly. I'll treat this as my 'break' week which is actually scheduled for next week and get back on track tomorrow.
I am absolutlely worn out but it's been a fantastic trip. Most of my exercise has been running in the fitness center (hungover) and walking, walking, walking. Our hotel was about half a mile from where the convention center was and I probably missed 5 out of 6 shuttles back and forth. I made up for it with a fair number of 12/24oz curls too.
I'm looking so forward to a shower and sleeping in my own bed.
Back to training tomorrow!

Day 40, been slack

Weds and Thurs were not good, raining and I felt off. Motivation was in the dump. This morning got up and knocked out Total Body which was nice. Will see how the weekend goes.

Day 37 - Catch up (Ketchup?)

So.. Didja miss me?
It was a busy weekend, and not too good on my exercising. Saturday was nice out, spent a fair amount of it outside shoveling gravel and sand while helping Neighbor Ben build a patio. Remainder of the day was spent going to the park to walk the dog and family and playing with kids in the cul-de-sac. Blew of intervals on account of the shoveling.
Sunday... RAIN! Took the kids for momma to have some by herself time then came back and celebrated Mother's Day. Blew off StretchX to entertain trapped-in-the-house-because-of-rain children. Spent a fair amount of time on the Dance Dance Revolution mat, worked up a good sweat (since I lack any real sense of rhythm, tempo, or timing I compensate by flailing about violently - the ancient Vikings called this Berzerker Rage Dancing and it was invoked to shock and awe their enemies with great success).
Monday... Work was a zoo and persisted until late in the evening, traded Upper Body+ workout for CardioX and then blew it off entirely.

Today! Got up early and cranked out Upper Body+, hit it hard, and it felt GOOOD..!
Hoping to get to the pool at lunch, and that it warms up some.
Have a great day!

It was too cold for a swim so I ran instead - 3 miles in 26:20, had the throttle wide open at the end, pretending it was the end of the Tri.

Day 33

Had some big storms last night so with the endless parade of children and dog I didn't get a lot of needed rest. Got up late and only had time for half of Total body but did it with a vengeance. Took a 2 mile run at lunch and did okay (19 minutes).
Have a great weekend!

Day 32

Took advantage in a break in the rain to hit the pool today. Was mighty cool to start with but a couple of laps I didn't really notice anymore. Ended up doing 11 laps freestyle and one down and back swimming underwater. Next time I hope to get 15 done.
Now as long as I can stop and catch my breath every 50 meters I should be fine for the Tri. :)

I've got YogaX scheduled for this evening, luckily the swim seems to have loosened me up and most of the agony in my lower half has dissipated. Should sleep good tonight.

Day 31

Started the day with CardioX and abripper. Helped the massive soreness I always have the day(s) after Legs&Back workout a little. Mighty Tim and I loaded up the bikes and tackled the mountain trails down at Harris park. We did 7 miles of 'beginner', 'intermediate', and 'advanced' trails in fairly rapid order. All was well until on the way back I got into a minor altercation with a sappling. After a sucessful launch and short "I CAN SEE MY HOUSE FROM HERE" moment the novelty wore off and I started focusing on re entry.
The dismount needs work. Swedish Judges only gave it a 6.
Tim thought it was hysterical.

Day 30

I'm having a weird week. Did tomorrow's workout this morning instead of what I was supposed to do today. Forgot to post yesterday's news that I finished the 300 miles a day early! Also Upper Body + is a rocking workout.

Maybe some coffee will set me straight, hope you have a good day!

Oh man, I just got humbled pretty hard.
Went to the pool to do some laps. Did 3 straight, rest, lap, rest, lap. So 5 laps poorly.
I'll need to be able to do the equivalent of 15 laps with no rest for the triathlon.
Well, now I know.

Day 28

17.5 Miles ridden this morning, grass mowed, house cleaned. YogaX tonight then kick off Phase II tomorrow.
Pool's opened yesterday and I'm hoping to do some laps today, I need to hit it pretty hard to be ready for the Triathlon in July.

21 Miles left to ride, 2 days to do it in. Doable.

Saturday, May 3, 2008

Day 27

32 Mile ride by myself this morning. Weather was great, perfect for riding. Probably nice for mowing the grass and taking down a dead tree too. Some breakfast first though.

38.5 miles to go!

Day 26

Had an off day yesterday, just didn't feel that great. Made up Core-Syn this morning and hoping to get a ride in this evening. It's iffy.

I'm about ready for this rest week to be over to kick off Phase II of the P180X+ !

Have a good one.
